MinchLife Newsletter – 1st October 2026

Dear all,

Thank you to everyone who came to the Street Party on Saturday, 12th September and made it such a fun and friendly event.

Just a reminder that there will be a lot of traffic on the Commons day and night.  The A419 – Cowcombe Hill will be closed 24 hours a day from the Lavender Bakehouse to Aston Down island from Tuesday, 29th September to Friday, 9th October. This is in order for ground investigations and geotechnical testing due to ongoing landslips and road cracks.   Please be extra vigilant especially as the cows will be out until about the end of October.

Please would anyone with ideas for improving road safety or who has photos or evidence of inconsiderate or dangerous parking, mounting pavements etc. email minchsaferstreets@gmail.com

Bereavement Journey
Working with grief and the loss of a loved one takes a long time. The Bereavement Journey® is a 7-session programme which assists bereaved people, or those who have experienced similar, to process their loss. Each session begins with light refreshments and the opportunity to get to know other participants. Two informative videos are then used interspersed with discussion in small groups facilitated by trained volunteers. The course is for anyone bereaved anytime.  The next course is 7.00-9.00pm Thursday, 8th October – 19th November.  The course will be held at The Porch Room, Holy Trinity, Minchinhampton. Registration costs £25 which is a contribution to the cost of the course handbook and refreshments over the seven evenings. (NB: Grants are available where this small charge would be challenging.)  Application forms are available at Holy Trinity or the Baptist Church, or may be downloaded from www.minchbc.org.uk or by email to courses@minchbc.org.uk.  Completed application forms can be scanned and emailed back to courses@minchbc.org.uk or suefairley1@outlook.com posted to Minchinhampton Baptist Church, Tetbury Street, Minchinhampton, Stroud.
