Hello everyone,
Hopefully the bunting will be going up this week for the Minch Life Street Party on Saturday, 12th September. Please note that the High Street will be closed to traffic from 11.00am until 6.00pm. It would be much appreciated please if all cars could be away from the area well before 11.00am. Do set up your tables and chairs from 11.00am. The music will start at 12.00noon. Bands playing include Jazz Friday and the Usual Suspects. Jonathan Brough and the Community Choir will be singing during the day. The Minch Moo relay race will start at 3.00pm so do make up a team and join in. This is a free event for everyone but raffle tickets will be on sale so we hope for your support.
On Saturday, 5th will be the Annual Flower and Produce Show in Minchinhampton School hall from 12.00noon until 4.00pm. Exhibiting is open to all residents in the Parish of Minchinhampton whether you are a novice, experienced gardeners or an allotment holder. There are children’s classes too. This completed form and entry fee must be delivered to 10 Park Terrace, Minchinhampton no later than 6.00pm on Wednesday 2nd September (see schedule here). Judging will have take place at 9.00am on Saturday, 5th and the cups will be presented by Nick Moss at 5.00pm.
On Sunday, 6th the residents of Box will be holding their Box Village Show together with a children’s radish growing competition. The village hall will be open from 3.00pm to view all the entries and the prizegiving ceremony will take place at 4.00pm.
There is a meeting of Minch Safer Streets on Tuesday, 1st September at 6.00pm in the Crown. Everyone is welcome to attend even if you have not attended previous meetings. It would be helpful if you could bring details of any ideas, suggestions or photos relating to the subject.

Cotswold Club Open Day
The club are celebrating their 80th anniversary on Saturday, 12th September from 12.00noon till late. Free entry. All are welcome to meet the various groups and societies based at the club and tour the facilities. Keith’s karaoke will also take place from 7.30pm.

Box Art Group Annual Exhibition 2026
The Box Art Group exhibition will be open to the public with free admission, as usual, from Friday, 9th to Sunday, 11th October, and with tea, coffee and cake available on the Saturday and Sunday. The group meets every Thursday afternoon at Box Village Hall, except for two weeks over Christmas, and two weeks over Easter. It is supported by professional tutors who provide positive advice and encouragement to the artists, and give occasional demonstrations and workshops. If you are interested in painting, and we have tutored portraiture sessions each term, come along and see if the group suits your taste. Spaces are available, and a friendly welcome with tea and biscuits for our mid-afternoon break, where we view and chat about what everyone else is working on. (see boxartgroup.uk)
Pantomime time
(Oh yes it is!) After their spectacular success ‘Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat’ last year, Minchinhampton Players are following it up with a Minchinhampton pantomime this November (Thursday, 26th – Saturday, 28th). ‘Over the Rainbow’ is basically a version of The Wizard of Oz, but set firmly in Minchinhampton with lots of added music, jokes and some hilarious surprises! A large cast will include a lot of children (not munchkins, Minchkins!) Informal auditions are open to all. The kids’ audition will be in the Market House on Monday, 7th September starting at 7.15, for 8 to teens; adults’ are on Wednesday, 9th starting at 7.00. Rehearsals will be on Wednesday evenings.
Absolute Beginners Modern Line Dancing Class
Coming to Minchinhampton Community Hub on Monday, 7th September from 6.30-7.30pm. Modern Line Dancing uses all genres of music and no partner is required.
