Minchinhampton celebrated the Jubilee in style on Sunday, 5th June. Many individual streets and communities got together and MinchLife also organised a Platinum Jubilee Fayre in the School Field by kind permission of Nick Moss who also lent the school stage. The event was able to be free for everyone due to the help from our sponsors and in particular Gloucestershire County Council. The children had a great time in the Kidz Zone with Sublime Science doing spectacular experiments, slime, bubbles etc. and Showtime Shane performing magic tricks, and entertaining the children with puppets, games and competitions. On the main stage there were old favourites such as the Jazz Friday Big Band and Becky Dellow Band and Emily Jane Shepherd’s singing was very popular. Sadly the weather wasn’t kind but we were able to enjoy Minchinhampton ComMoonity Choir who then led the Sing-Along. The rain and wind then increased and the last two acts were moved to the Market House out of the elements.
