At Minchinhampton RFC we want to be able to offer all girls the same opportunities as boys.
With our successful Minis and Juniors sections we already have many girls in our younger ages, but we’ve noticed that as they get older they disappear from the club and from rugby altogether. After much research we’ve discovered that the girls are leaving for a variety of reasons, but two of which, that we can do something about, is that they get intimidated by tackling boys when they reach Under 9s, plus the boys are not passing to them. Despite the coaches best efforts this is still a problem that is too difficult to remedy.
Therefore, we now have girls only groups:
Mini Lambs,
U9/10/11sLambs,
U12/13sJunior Ewes,
U14/15sEwes,
U16/17/18s
A warm welcome awaits all the girls and their families at our weekly sessions, every Sunday between 1-2.30pm at our lovely ground Hollybush in Crackstone, GL6 9BA
