Minchinhampton Life September Newsletter

The bunting and banners are up and it is now less than two weeks to the Minchinhampton Fayre, on Saturday, 14th September.  The day will start at midday with a cavalcade – vintage cars, the Gruffalo, the Pageant Players and school children parading from the school field, up to the Market Square for the Pageant play about 12.15 pm.    Posters will soon be displayed with timings of events so you can plan your day.

The 37th Annual Gardening Show will be in the School;  The Way we Wed – a Festival of Wedding Dresses and flowers through the ages in Holy Trinity Church;  Teckels’  Dog show;  Fun Fair;  School of Larks’ circus skills’ workshops;  Walking with Hawks;  Punch and Judy shows at 1.30 and 3.30 pm; pony rides,  gliding simulator;  golf and football activities and games and stalls galore for all ages.

Artisan-Ales are supplying beer, cider and lager for the Beer Tent.  There is a Hog Roast courtesy of Pimbury pigs; Funky Falafels; Indian cookery samples and demonstration by Madhus’ Rasoi;  burgers, sausages, juices and drinks and ice creams of every description.  The Kitchen, the Chip Shed and Henry’s will be open as usual supplying their usual delicious food and the Crown is running a pop up pub.

In the evening the Market House will be open for live music with Richard Dinning and with a DJ to get everyone on the floor dancing.  Bar.

The weekend will finish with a Service of Thanksgiving at the Holy Trinity Church at 5.30 pm on Sunday.  All welcome.

Please make it a weekend to remember and come along with friends and family. Free entry and all proceeds to local charities.  Don’t forget to buy raffle tickets!

Wednesday, 4th September 2019.  7.30 p.m.  The Life and Times of Longford and Ham Mills.  Talk by Ian Mackintosh at Royal British Legion meeting, Cotswold Club.
