Minchinhampton Parish Council’s Bulletin Two – March 2020

Work has started on the second phase of improvements to the Bell Lane car park, on the common by the primary school and church in Minchinhampton.

Drivers are therefore politely asked not to leave their vehicles there while the major £40,000project is completed over the next few weeks.

Contractors appointed by Minchinhampton Parish Council are on site to lay new “egg crated” gravelled surfacing which when finished will stop gravel washing away down the lane in wet weather.

A tarmac area nearest to Bell Lane has already been finished as part of the same project, allundertaken to create a far more attractive – and mudless – place for long stay, free parking for both residents and visitors to the town.

ouncillors have been consulted on the usual monthly quota of local planning applications lodged with Stroud District Council. Working remotely via e-mail their views were submitted on eight schemes for mainly domestic extensions with only one prompting an objection because members considered it over development of the site.

Details of all MPC’s comments can be viewed on the SDC website.
