Well-known local auctioneer\, Philip Taubenheim\, will be giving his opinions and thoughts on your objects. This should be a great evening and very interesting. \nPhilip is Managing Director\, senior auctioneer\, valuer and cataloguer at Wotton Auction Rooms. He has spent all his working life in the world of Antiques and Auctions and\, when not dealing with the day-to-day dealing of the business\, he is a contributor to the BBC Antiques Roadshow. \nPhilip will give a talk generally about the life of an auctioneer\, following which he’ll talk about the attendees’ treasures. Attendees are invited to bring items of interest rather than just of value\, for him to talk about. \nThe Village Hall will be open from 6:15pm on 2nd March\, and attendees who have items they would like Philip to talk about are invited to bring them before 7:00pm which is when Philip will start his talk. A welcome drink will be given to all guests on arrival\, and there will also be a raffle. Philip hopes to have sufficient time to talk about most if not all of the diplayed items. The talk will conclude at about 9:00pm after the draw of the raffle. \nThe ticket cost for this event is £10\, payable in advance\, and this includes a drink on arrival. DESCRIPTION:Box Bar continues to lubricate the village on the first and third Friday of every month.  It is well supported and has become a very enjoyable social hub for the village. \nIt serves wine\, prosecco\, gin and tonic\, organic cider\, organic lager and beers from Stroud brewery\, plus a selection of soft drinks.  The draft organic pale ale on sale is now gluten free. \nThe bar has a card reader\, so you don’t need to bring cash.  The profits from the bar help to fund the Village Hall.

SUMMARY:Minchinhampton Movie Night:  The Banshees of Inisherin
DESCRIPTION:The next Movie at the Market House is ‘Banshees of Inisherin’ starring Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson\, directed by Martin McDonagh. \n‘Banshees of Inisherin’  is set in Ireland in the 1920s and is the story of two friends who find themselves at an impasse when one abruptly ends their relationship\, bringing alarming consequences for both of them. A film not to be missed. \nThe film has been nominated  for Best Picture\, Best Director\, Best Actor (Brendon Gleeson)\, Best Original Score\, Best Screenplay and Best Editing at the forthcoming Oscars ceremony in March. The two starring actors were in director Martin McDonagh’s first film ‘In Bruges’ which won a number of top awards. McDonagh’s later film ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing\, Missouri’  also won a host of awards  and became an inspiration to many activist groups around the world including Bristol NHS workers\, the Grenfell Tower protesters\, gun control activists in the USA  and public protests in China. \n  \nTickets available now at the Market Stores – £6\, cash only. \nDoors open 7pm\, show starts 7.30pm.
