DESCRIPTION:Led by the Hemmings.  Meet at Box Village Hall \nDear All \n\nThe walk on 26 March takes in Box Wood\, including the now visible Spinney\, Iron Mills Common and Stuart Fawkes Fields then back through Box (or Minchinhampton common if the sun comes out). Lots of very recent tree clearance and fencing work has enabled more light to reach the woodland floor\, creating a new glade near the pond. I was hoping for an early spring in the hopes that we might be able to identify the first shoots of Meadow Clary\, but the severe winter frosts seem to have delayed their emergence. Nevertheless\, the waterfalls and trees will be there and lots of new buds are already bursting. \n\nThe walk is approx. 2 miles and will involve some moderate hill climbing and probably wet ground\, judging by the forecast. Dogs are permitted and most will enjoy the woods. There are no stiles. \n\nPlease meet at 10.30 at Box Village Hall car park. If the car park is full\, use one of the spaces on the common near the Halfway Cafe\, Common Road. I have booked the small meeting room at Box Village Hall so that you can bring some food and drink to consume in the hall. \n\nSteve. \n  \n  \nWe are an informal group of friends who enjoy walking\, wildlife\, good company and the occasional trip the pub. You are very welcome to join us – but entirely at your own risk!! \nAll walks use public footpaths which may be steep\, rough and slippery. Prepare accordingly.  We generally start at 10.30 and finish by lunchtime. \n  \nIf the weather is very poor\, we will cancel by email by 9.00am on the relevant morning.
