Which is surprising\, considering it’s England’s oldest open-air museum. (And winner of Visit Worcestershire tourism awards.) There are more than 30 historic buildings on site\, dating from the 13th century. \nHighlights include an impressive windmill\, a phone box collection (you can actually use between boxes!)\, a medieval town house\, a pre-fab and even a miniature steam railway. And set in 19 acres of land. \nThe tea room offers a delicious selection of home-made sandwiches\, soup\, cakes\, drinks and icecreams. DESCRIPTION:Minchinhampton Probus meets fortnightly on the second and fourth Thursday in the Porch Room\, Holy Trinity\, Minchinhampton.  Starts at 10am – with coffee and a catch up with other members.  The meeting comprises a brief business meeting for about 15 minutes then usually a guest speaker. Meeting finishes at noon. \nWe are a very friendly bunch of men from all sorts of backgrounds. SUMMARY:Alzheimer Café
DESCRIPTION:The monthly Alzheimer Café which\, for over 20 years has been held in Nailsworth\, has now moved to the Longfield Community Hospice on Burleigh Lane\, Minchinhampton.  The hospice building is fully accessible and there is ample parking on site. \nThe café offers support\, advice\, discussion time and musical entertainment for those living at home and suffering from any form of dementia. Many attend with a friend or family member\, while others are brought by volunteer drivers. Light refreshments are provided and there is ample opportunity to relax and chat in a supportive environment; often\, local medical professionals attend and are able to answer specific questions. \nThere is no charge\, though donations are welcomed\, to help cover expenses. The café is staffed solely by volunteers\, many of whom have first-hand experience of Alzheimer’s through having cared for a family member in the past. \nThere is no need to book or register – just turn up; all are welcome\, as are potential volunteers helpers. DESCRIPTION:Alpha is a space to explore different parts of the Christian faith in a relaxed and friendly environment. Each session covers a different topic\, like prayer\, the Bible\, who Jesus is and loads more. \nThen there’s plenty of time to chat about what you think. Each group has a leader to help guide the conversation. There’s never pressure to share your thoughts\, but the floor is yours if you do want to say something. \nAlpha is for everyone\, no matter your background or beliefs. Whether you’re new to exploring faith or simply open-minded about it all\, Alpha is for you. \nWe all bring different thoughts to the table\, and at Alpha we want to create a space that’s open for everyone to find what faith means for them. \nHoly Trinity Minchinhampton and Minchinhampton Baptist Church are jointly running a local Alpha course starting on Wednesday 24th September at 7 pm at Minchinhampton Baptist Church\, Tetbury Street.  The course runs weekly and will end on 26th November. \nTo book your place\, please apply by email courses@minchbc.org.uk by 17th September 2025.
