In doing so they will be raising funds for the school bikes that we send to Nkokoto. We don’t just send them to our sponsored children; we send them to every child in Nkokoto who starts 4 years of school in Vumilia. That’s about 50 children every year. Without these bikes they face an hour walking and the girls are particularly at risk of accepting a lift. With the bikes everyone arrives in a better position to start to learn.

DESCRIPTION:This year our Charity Walk has moved from its familiar slot in May to June so that we can enjoy the sensitively restored rose garden of Avening Court at its very best.  If you haven’t joined us before\, this is a real community event whereyou can stretch your legs and the dog’s through Gatcombe Wood and Avening Court (both not normally open to the public) and raise lots of money for our Elderly Care Charity at the same time. \nA shuttle bus service will run from Minch Library to Avening Court and Avening Social Club for those who prefer to do only a section of the Walk (or just see the Gardens of Avening Court) and by popular demand\, a shorter return route will be signed if the full 10 miles is a bit much! \nHowever\, by happy coincidence this is also the day of Box Open Gardens;should you do the whole walk\, you can support another important charity eventand enjoy some lovely gardens on your way through Box. \nSo to register\, donate and see all the event details as they become available\, go to www.horsfallhouse.co.uk/fundraising
