DESCRIPTION:Doors Open 3.00pm \nThere is a slight change to the Movie Night format for Christmas. There will be a Matinée showing of the classic 1940s Frank Capra film ‘It’s a Wonderful Life.’ This is the heartwarming story of George Bailey\, played by James Stewart\, a small town businessman\, who finds himself in serious trouble at Christmastime. The story is a very loose adaptation of Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol.’ \nAlthough not being particularly well received on first release in 1946\, it has since been recognised as a classic masterpiece and one of the ‘Greatest Movies of All Time.’ Originally shot in black and white\, there is now a ‘colourised’ version available\, but we felt that the original b/w version retains the classic atmosphere of the film. \nFREE GLASS OF MULLED WINE (OR  CUP OF TEA) AND MINCE PIE (WITH COMPLIMENTS OF CORALIE & LIZ) \nTICKETS FROM THE MARKET STORES £7 – CASH ONLY PLEASE \nSeason’s greetings to all our patrons from the Movie Night Team

SUMMARY:A Classical Christmas Concert With the Thames Head Singers and Capriol Chamber Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:This year we are joining with our friends in The Capriol Chamber Orchestra to bring you a selection of much-loved classical pieces and a host of carols to make your Christmas really special. \nThe programme includes:\n– Vivaldi’s Kyrie RV587\n– Vivaldi’s Gloria\n– Corelli’s Christmas Concerto \n… and a host of carols including Bob Chilcott’s  ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’ and Jonathan Trim’s ‘Away in A Manger’. \nVivaldi’s Kyrie\, requiring two choirs and two string orchestras\, is not often performed and the musical drama it creates is a rare treat. This will be followed by Vivaldi’s better known and very popular Gloria. The Capriol Chamber Orchestra continues the classical theme with Corelli’s Christmas Concerto – a festive masterpiece. \nThe evening will conclude with a host of carols\, including Chilcott’s adventurous and entertaining arrangement of The Twelve Days of Christmas and Jonathan Trim’s wonderful setting of Away in a Manger. \nThe performance will be directed by Andrew Hopwood and Jonathan Trim and accompanied by Julian Elloway. \nThe concert will be supporting Mindsong – a local charity reaching out to people with dementia through music and song. \nDoors open at 6.45pm for pre-concert drinks and the concert starts at 7.30pm. \nTickets £18.00 (free for under 18’s) available online from ticketsource.co.uk or from M&B Stores\, Minchinhampton. DESCRIPTION:Test out your general knowledge with a pint and some proper pub grub.  Round up your team and join us for a fun evening.  Why not make an evening of it and have food with us before the start of the quiz?  The quiz is £2 per person (cash only) to join and there is a £50 bar tab to grab for the winning team (6 max per team).  8 pm start.  All entry money for quiz will be donated to Minchinhampton Youth Club.

You are very welcome to join us – but entirely at your own risk!! \nAll walks use public footpaths which may be steep\, rough and slippery.
