SUMMARY:Swing from Paris: an evening of Parisian-flavoured music
DESCRIPTION:Swing from Paris are an all-string jazz quartet of violin (Fenner Curtis)\, guitars (Andy Bowen and Sam Hughes) and double bass (Tomasz Williams)\, inspired by the music of the 1930s\, ’40s and ’50s: from the cafés and cabarets of Montmartre to Artie Shaw\, Django Reinhardt\, Stéphane Grappelli and the master of tango Astor Piazzolla. \nKnown for their tight ensemble sound and virtuosic performances\, the group brings a distinctive Parisian flair to vintage jazz and stylish swing. They have performed at major UK and European festivals including the renowned Django Reinhardt Festival in Samois-sur-Seine\, and appearances range from BBC TV and radio to the French Embassy at Kensington Palace. \nTickets are £18 and can be bought online on the Market House website. \nOr from the Market Stores\, Minchinhampton (a month before the event and cash only)

The film is ‘The Ballad of Wallis Island’ about a wealthy Lottery winner (Tim Key)\, who wants his own personal music concert with faded music star (Tom Basden) Herb McGwyer performing to an audience of one. It’s a funny but melancholy highly rated British film. \n

SUMMARY:Paranormal Investigation at the Ragged Cot
DESCRIPTION:See poster for details. \nWe will eat first and then begin the investigation. We usually start with a group seance and then move onto other methods including mirror scrying\, table tipping\, glass divination (asking spirits to push the glass) and we will have equipment including light up balls\, spirit boxes and EVP (electronic voice phenomenon) recorders set up too.As for what it will be like…we cannot say! \nWe have never investigated here before\, but it comes with a very good reputation\, some events we have done in the past have been quiet but others have been absolutely off the wall! \nEvent by Nanny Lyn Cinderey
