DESCRIPTION:HYDE’S SNOWDROP EVENT: OPEN GARDENS TO SUPPORT HORSFALL HOUSE\nFor two afternoons on Sunday 8 and 15 February\, between 1.00pm and 4.00pm\, owners of\nHyde’s enchanting gardens will open their gates for a special fundraising event in aid of Horsfall\nHouse\, a local not-for-profit nursing home and charity dedicated to caring for the elderly and\nsupporting their families.\nVisitors will be treated to breathtaking displays of snowdrops\, including rare and historic\nvarieties. Hyde was once home to the renowned Giant Snowdrop Company (1950s–1960s)\, and\nthis heritage lives on in the gardens today. Highlights include rare and historic snowdrops – a\nnod to Hyde’s unique horticultural history; a history of the houses in Hyde; a budding\nConnoisseurs’ Corner of some more exotic and unusual varieties of snowdrop; homemade cake\nand hot drinks at Hyde End and new for 2026 – exclusive snowdrop prints and cards available.\nDuncan Wood\, Chair of Trustees for Horsfall House said: “Events like open gardens are a\nwonderful way to bring our community together while raising essential funds for the care we\nprovide. Every donation helps us offer comfort\, dignity and support to those who need it most.\nWe’re deeply grateful to the residents of Hyde and everyone who joins us for this celebration of\nnature and generosity.”\nFor visitors new to the event\, entry is by voluntary donation at either Hyde End or online via the\nHorsfall House website.
