A mighty milestone…And the Good On Paper Party/Fundraiser returns on Saturday 1st February\, this time taking places across two venues: the radical ‘pay-what-you-can’ community hub The Long Table and multi-arts venue Studio 18. \nFirst launched in 2016 the GOP Party acts as a fundraiser for Good On Paper; whilst bringing forth a hoard of local artists\, musicians\, poets\, DJ’s and more to celebrate the vibrant\, creative scene which Stroud is increasingly becoming renowned for. A one day festival if you will. An eclectic mix of live music\, spoken word and art. As well as securing a future for the magazine which remains a part time project it will also raise vital funds for the venues hosting it. \nGood On Paper continues its close working relationship with d&b audiotechnik who will install their world renowned speakers for the stage at the Long Table. DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nSnowdrops at Hyde – 9th and 16th February 2025 from 1.00pm to 4.00pm. \n  \nOur Winter Open Gardens event in Hyde is back again for 2025 on two consecutive Sundays in the hope of catching at least one day of winter sunshine! But even the greyest February day is brightened by a drift of winter flowers and especially the snowdrops that are everywhere in the beautiful and historic Hyde gardens. And new for this year\, Hyde End has a small Connoisseurs’ Corner of some more exotic and unusual varieties of snowdrops\, new to the garden.The Hyde Giant Snowdrop Company has a fascinating history\, and we will have archive images and information on display (courtesy of the Stroud Museum in the Park) as well as some of their famous snowdrops for sale.  Galanthus Samuel Arnott\, for example\, is one of the giant Snowdrops that grows very happily here and was originally brought back from the CrimeanWar… \n  \nHere are the main event details: \no The participating gardens are Hyde House\, Hyde End\, Hyde HouseCottage\, Ivy Cottage and the Walled Garden – \no Entry to the event is by voluntary donation so please give generously if you can. \no Hot drinks and plenty of cake will be available at Hyde End \n.o The event will be well signed with marshals on hand to guide you. \no Parking is limited in Hyde so please carshare if you can or walk via Knapp Lane \n.o Parking for those with limited mobility is available at some of the gardens and views can be enjoyed from a wheelchair although the gardens are generally not wheelchair friendly unfortunately \n.o Being a winter event\, please be suitably prepared and aware of the ground conditions (Wellies are perfect as some lanes don’t drain well) and remember that you participate and park at your own risk. \n  \nThis event is all in aid of Horsfall House\, a not-for-profit organisation and Charity caring for the elderly and supporting their families in our community \n

DESCRIPTION:Coach £23\, Tewkesbury Park Hotel Cream Tea £30\, total £53  \nFull disclosure – Ian and I recently had a weekend away in Tewkesbury… which was perfect.  \nBecause on day two\, we realised Ian had forgotten his pills and we had to pop back home. Anyway\, we started with a cream tea at Tewkesbury Park Hotel\, and loved it! The views from the restaurant are lovely – as is the cream tea (or coffee). Sandwiches (a choice)\, scones with lots of jam and cream\, and luscious cakes.  \nThere will be time in the town first (beautiful abbey\, as you know\, into which even Ruby the spaniel was welcomed)\, coffee shops\, and some nice independents among which is a very good bookshop. There’s also a Wednesday market.  \nWe’ve booked the cream tea for 1pm (it is\, in effect\, a meal\, so we thought it great for lunch).  \nPlease NB: there are a few stairs around the hotel with no lift\, including four down into the restaurant. It has now become the most successful dance theatre production of all time\, creating new audiences and inspiring generations of young dancers. DESCRIPTION:Snowdrops at Hyde – 9th and 16th February 2025 from 1.00pm to 4.00pm. \n  \nOur Winter Open Gardens event in Hyde is back again for 2025 on two consecutive Sundays in the hope of catching at least one day of winter sunshine! But even the greyest February day is brightened by a drift of winter flowers and especially the snowdrops that are everywhere in the beautiful and historic Hyde gardens. And new for this year\, Hyde End has a small Connoisseurs’ Corner of some more exotic and unusual varieties of snowdrops\, new to the garden.The Hyde Giant Snowdrop Company has a fascinating history\, and we will have archive images and information on display (courtesy of the Stroud Museum in the Park) as well as some of their famous snowdrops for sale.  Galanthus Samuel Arnott\, for example\, is one of the giant Snowdrops that grows very happily here and was originally brought back from the CrimeanWar… \n  \nHere are the main event details: \no The participating gardens are Hyde House\, Hyde End\, Hyde HouseCottage\, Ivy Cottage and the Walled Garden – \no Entry to the event is by voluntary donation so please give generously if you can. \no Hot drinks and plenty of cake will be available at Hyde End \n.o The event will be well signed with marshals on hand to guide you. \no Parking is limited in Hyde so please carshare if you can or walk via Knapp Lane \n.o Parking for those with limited mobility is available at some of the gardens and views can be enjoyed from a wheelchair although the gardens are generally not wheelchair friendly unfortunately \n.o Being a winter event\, please be suitably prepared and aware of the ground conditions (Wellies are perfect as some lanes don’t drain well) and remember that you participate and park at your own risk. \n  \nThis event is all in aid of Horsfall House\, a not-for-profit organisation and Charity caring for the elderly and supporting their families in our community
