DESCRIPTION:Meet at Bell Lane Car park – not the Hub.  Minchinhampton. 10.30 am. \nJust to let you know that we have changed the starting point for the snowdrop walk on 30 March. We will now meet at the Bell Lane car park at 10.30. The Hub was very accommodating\, but when Mary and I tested the route the other day\, the path across the arable fields east of Tobacconist Farm was very muddy. I have therefore re-routed to minimise our time on the arable land.\nPlease note that there is at least one stile that dogs must be lifted over\, unless they can jump over 1m.\nWe have decided to leave a car at Cherington Lake\, so that those who dont want to do the return trek can get a lift back to Minch.\n\nWe are an informal group of friends who enjoy walking\, wildlife\, good company and the occasional trip the pub. You are very welcome to join us – but entirely at your own risk!! \nAll walks use public footpaths which may be steep\, rough and slippery. Prepare accordingly.  \nWe generally start at 10.30\, unless otherwise specified in the programme. \nIf the weather is very poor\, we will cancel by email by 9.00am on the relevant morning.  \nPlease contact karencolebourn@gmail.com to be added to the circulation list.

DESCRIPTION:From 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm https://horsfallhouse.co.uk/fundraising\n\n2022 sees the return of our Winter Open Gardens event in Hyde (all being well). Even the greyest February day is brightened by a drift of winter flowers\, especially snowdrops and these are very much in evidence in the beautiful and historic Hyde gardens. \nThe Hyde Giant Snowdrop Company has a fascinating history and we hope to have a small archive display again this time as well as some of their famous snowdrops for sale. Galanthus Samuel Arnott\, for example\, is one of the giant Snowdrops that grows very happily here and was originally brought back from the Crimean War… \nHere are a few of the event details and more will follow: \n  \n\nThe participating gardens so far are Hyde End\, Hyde House Cottage and Ivy Cottage. A map will be provided on our website.\nEntry to the event is by voluntary donation and we suggest a minimum donation of £5.00 but please give generously if you can.\nRefreshments will be available.\nThe event will be well signed and marshals will be on hand to guide you.\nParking is limited in Hyde. Some parking for those with restricted mobility will be provided and some views can be enjoyed from a wheelchair but most areas are not wheelchair-friendly unfortunately.\nThis is a winter event\, so be suitably prepared and aware of the ground conditions. You participate at your own risk.

This former passenger steamship was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel to sail between Bristol and New York. When launched in 1843\, she was by far the biggest vessel on the waves. There’s all sorts to explore from the kitchen\, which once fed 600 a day (while chasing rats from the cupboards)\nthe first class dining room\, and the promenade deck\, where you can even ‘meet’ the ship’s surgeon. Then descend underwater below the glass ‘sea’ to view what lies beneath.
