DESCRIPTION:The Community Library is holding monthly litter picks on the last Saturday of every month.  All those wishing to join in should meet at Minchinhampton Community Library\, School Road\, Minchinhampton\, GL6 9BP at 10am. Finishes at 12. \nMinchinhampton Community Library is part of Stroud District Council’s new Litter Champion Hub scheme\, helping to promote positive litter actionand the importance of keeping our environment clean. The library has a supply of litter pickers\, which can be loaned out to anyone wishing to drop by and do bit of ‘ad hoc’ litter picking in their own time.  If you don’t like litter\, and care about keeping the Common clean\, then come and join us on the 28th!  You’ll be able to find out more about how a Litter Champion Hub works\, and what this means for Minchinhampton and its Community Library. Meeting finishes at noon. \nWe are a very friendly bunch of men from all sorts of backgrounds. DESCRIPTION:Chiz Harward will be discussing his work on Holy Trinity\, Minchinhampton. \nTitle: ‘Your Church Newly Built’ excavation and research at Holy Trinity Minchinhampton\, GloucestershireAbstract: The church of the Holy Trinity traces its origins back to Domesday\, but much of the medieval church was destroyed during a major rebuilding in 1842. A recent reordering led to extensive archaeological fieldwork and sparked extensive research into the development of the church\, bringing together the standing remains\, the archaeological excavations and a remarkable set of documentary sources which includes churchwardens’ accounts\, eyewitness records\, and contemporary illustrations and plans of the church.There are tantalising glimpses of the Norman church and Early English alterations\, followed by a major rebuilding in the early 14th century including the remarkable south transept\, whilst the events leading up to the 1842 rebuilding tell a fascinating story of patronage and community.
