(Editor: Not so much Bath as a complete shower J) \nSo stuff that for a game of soldiers\, as Jane Austen was so fond of saying. We thought we could all go to Cribbs Causeway instead. \nIf you’ve booked and would rather not transfer (cost is identical)\, then no problem at all; we’ll refund/dispose of the cheque. \nBut what not to like – at Christmas – about a trip to the Mall: 150 shops\, plenty of cafes and restaurants\, and a chance to get all your Christmas present shopping done in one fell swoop. We’re pretty sure you all know your Cribbs complement – but there’s everything from John Lewis and Marks and Sparks to Hotel Chocolat and Lush. \nWhat’s more\, there’s plenty of room underneath the coach for bringing things back. \n  \nCoach £17 per person\,  \n9am-9:15am departure\, leaving Bath at 3:30pm \n  \nChristmas doesn’t start until you’ve been to Bath Christmas Markets. (‘Brilliant. I’m definitely not going then\,’ Ian says.) But whether you enjoy Christmas shopping or not\, you can’t fail to be moved by the magic of Bath Christmas market. More than 150 stalls\, housed in traditional wooden chalets\, line the streets\, offering everything from mulled wine and mince pies to unusual Christmas-present ideas – many of them craftsman-made. What’s more\, nearly all the stallholders are from local specialist businesses – so whether you’re after traditional wooden toys\, scented candles\, or some artisan cheese\, you’ll find products and produce of the topmost quality. Of course\, it all takes place in Bath city centre\, so all the usual shops will be open\, too\, as well as the year-round attractions\, such as the Roman Baths\, the gorgeous abbey\, and the fascinating Jane Austen museum. Coffee shops and restaurants pack the streets\, so you can indulge to your heart’s content after a busy shop. This trip is a really fun way to start the Christmas season. You are very welcome to join us – but entirely at your own risk!! \nAll walks use public footpaths which may be steep\, rough and slippery.
