SUMMARY:Cardiff Town Centre with Ian Jarvis
DESCRIPTION:Cardiff town centre Coach £26\, Total £26 per person \nOK – so this is the month when *whisper it* people are thinking of Christmas shopping. Not only is there a whole raft of fab shops in Cardiff\, but there’s a festive market stretching through the streets\, full of the sorts of unusual gifts that Ian insists on taking to Emmaus in January. We really like Cardiff. There are great restaurants; the free National Museum (including fabulous art galleries); and Cardiff Castle\, a leading heritage attraction. Plus lots of other things\, too! You can also get fairly easily from the centre to Cardiff Bay\, which offers a whole lot more eateries\, boat trips\, etc.\n(museum.wales/cardiff/) (cardiffcastle.com) (cardiffbay.co.uk)\n0900h Nailsworth/Box/Minch pickups 1045h Cardiff\n1500h Leave for home

SUMMARY:Minchinhampton Walking and Wildlife Group - Walk around Frampton on Severn
DESCRIPTION:Given the immense sogginess besetting us at present\, I thought we’d do a walk on 26th which\, if necessary\, can be all on surfaced paths – at Frampton on Severn. This beautiful Severn Vale village is about 10 miles from Minch. I therefore suggest that those who want to car share meet at Bell lane on 26th at 10.30am. We’ll meet those who’d prefer to drive alone at 11am in the carpark of the Bell Inn\, at the top of the Green. From here we will walk to the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal\, crossing back to the village at the church. If we have time and the ground is not too muddy\, we can then walk around Frampton Pools SSSI. These disused brick pits have been colonised by vegetation and are used by wintering birds seeking a bit of shelter from the estuary. Otherwise we’ll walk through the village and along the green\, with its ponds and cricket pitch – all wonderfully pastoral.\nLet Karen Colebourn know if you’d like to have lunch at the Bell afterwards.\nWe are an informal group of friends who enjoy walking\, wildlife\, good company and the occasional trip the pub. You are very welcome to join us – but entirely at your own risk!! \nAll walks use public footpaths which may be steep\, rough and slippery. Prepare accordingly.  We generally start at 10.30 and finish by lunchtime. \n  \nIf the weather is very poor\, we will cancel by email by 9.00am on the relevant morning.
