The story is devoted to the election of a new Pope and explores the traditions of the conclave and the wheeling and dealing during the numerous votes to chose the new Holy Father. ‘Conclave’ was well received by the film industry\, gaining many awards\, most recently the BAFTA ‘Best Picture’ award. \nThe religious community had divided opinions\, the supporters of change welcoming the treatment of the story and the traditionalists being generally against it.
