A professional forager will help you learn how to safely ID edible species and come away with lots of ideas for turning your foraged bounty into scrumptious meals. \nWhile we be out for three hours exploring and foraging wild food\, we will be identifying\, picking and tasting a number of delicious edibles that we find on the way. There will be discussion about seasonal eating and the nutritional values and medicinal use of plants. We will also look at the conservation of species and their habitats\, what to take and what to leave. And of course there’s use and storage of wild food\, recipes and lots\, lots more. Oxford Castle is within walking distance of the centre\, with its 1\,000-year history; there’s the Ashmolean Museum (the oldest public museum in the country; look out for the Tokyo: Art and Photography exhibition that will be on during our visit); Modern Art Oxford; and the fascinatingly idiosyncratic Pitt Rivers Museum. The colleges\, of course\, are a perennial favourite.
