SUMMARY:Preview of the film Flight of the Swans
DESCRIPTION:Mary Matthews and her late husband Geoffrey were scientists working at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge. Mary was one of the pioneers of ongoing research into the migration of Bewick Swans from their breeding grounds in Russia to the Severn Estuary. To draw attention to the risks the swans are exposed to as they fly over different territories\, Sacha Dench migrated with them\, flying a microlight aircraft.\n\nA preview of the resulting film Flight of the Swans  will be shown in Minchinhampton Market House at 7.30 on 8th  December. Sacha will be there to introduce and discuss it\, as will the scientists who continue to study these magnificent birds.\n\nEntry will be free – but we will ask you to obtain tickets via Eventbrite so that we know how many folk to expect.
